Help for BWIAM Hospital in Gambia

For the BWIAM Hospital in Gambia, Medic Foundation supplied the following equipment via the PUUR Foundation: resuscitation tables, incubators, radiant warmers, monitoring monitors, and infusion and syringe pumps. The PUUR Foundation (https://www.puurfoundation.nl) is an organization dedicated to the safety of maternal and child care in the interior of Gambia, so that mothers do not have to travel for hours to give birth safely. The goal is to give mother and child the chance to be born healthy and safely through knowledge transfer and the provision of medical equipment and goods. Annual training sessions are also provided for hospital staff by midwives from the city of Arnhem to improve their skills, e.g., regarding breastfeeding and personal hygiene. These training sessions also have a direct impact on maternal and child mortality rates.
